Well-Woman Yoga Circles

Every month we hold a yoga circle for women of all ages, abilities and ranges in yoga experience (including none at all). It’s a wonderful way to ease into movement, find peace in your mind, and connect with a community of other women.

It’s yoga, but it’s not your “ordinary” yoga class. There is much less focus on physical exercise and so much more focus on deeply restful, radical, joyful healing and fun!

Venue: Holmfirth Yoga and Pilates

Date & Time: Sunday 13th Feb, 6.00pm – 7.30pm

Yin Yoga – 4 Week Course

Yin Yoga is a slow, stretchy style of yoga where you will pause in positions for longer. Holding longer means that you can feel into and experience the body, mind and emotions. Yin yoga is also a more calming form of yoga which works on the connective tissue of the body (fascia) and energy channels (meridians)

This course is a fabulous balance to high intensity exercise, a busy lifestyle or just a lifetime of built up stress and tension.

Venue: Holmfirth Yoga and Pilates

Date & Time: Mondays 31st Jan, 7th, Feb, 14th Feb and 21st Feb 7.45pm – 9.00pm

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) is the practice of profound rest. This is the mother of all Savasanas.

This ancient practice of the yogis allows the body and mind to drop into a state of deep rest and relaxation. It is said that 30 minutes in Yoga Nidra, is equivalent to 2-4 hours of sleep. In this place of deep relaxation your body and mind are able to rest and restore. Much healing can take place.

Venue: Om Is Where The Heart Is, Slaithwaite

Date & Time: Friday 4th Feb,  6.30pm – 8.00pm

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a slow, gentle, quiet practice of yoga, where the body remains still for much of the time, triggering the mind to follow that stillness into deep, deep relaxation.

Restorative yoga can have huge benefits for those experiencing chronic pain, mental distress, sleep disturbances and other health issues. It is a great balance to a busy lifestyle.

Yoga for Beginners (Asana)

If you’ve heard how great yoga is to keep you supple and strong and would love to give it a go but are confused about which foot should go where and why, then this is a great way to dip your toes and give it a go, knowing that you will be gently guided, without judgement, and that everyone else in the class will be in the same boat.

This first in a series of three workshops, focusses on physical posture.

Venue: Holmfirth Yoga and Pilates
